Oh la laaaa ! It’s Sarah, your Parisian Bestie. How are you today ?
Welcome to My Paris Blog Updates!
Welcome to my Paris blog updates! I’ve revamped this blog to give you a fresh, authentic Parisian vibe, bringing you insider tips and hidden gems of the city. It’s been a while since I’ve updated this space, and I couldn’t wait to share with you what’s new. Paris is always changing, and so is this blog. So let’s dive in!
A Morning in Paris
Right now, in Paris, it’s 8:30 AM. The sun is slowly starting to rise (thank you, winter!), and I’m in full cocoon mode at my desk, holding a cup of coffee that warms my hands. Looking out the window, I see passersby heading to work, bundled up in scarves, and hear the sounds of honking horns filling the air. And in the middle of all that, I’m thinking… about how I can make this blog feel more like home to you. How can I make it more genuine, more real, more… us?
A Parisian Journal
You know, I’ve always loved writing—not just writing for the sake of writing, but writing the way you would confide in a friend. And that’s when the idea hit me—why not turn this blog into my Parisian journal? A space where I can share everything about Paris with you: from the well-loved clichés to the hidden secrets and even the little surprises we encounter daily (spoiler alert: Parisians do complain just as much as they say!).
Real Paris, Through My Eyes
This blog is meant to give you a true look at life in Paris through my eyes. No sanitized version of Paris with clickbait titles, no cookie-cutter format to please algorithms. Just real moments, honest stories. And believe me, I’ve got a lot to share!
Let’s Talk Mulled Wine
Speaking of which, let’s talk about one of the most beloved winter traditions here: mulled wine, or as the French like to call it, “hot wine.” Yes, I know, you’re probably thinking, “Sarah, it’s only 8:30 AM, and you’re already thinking about wine?” But wait—can you smell the cinnamon and citrus? It’s the Paris Christmas spirit that’s got me in this cozy mood.
Seriously, winter in Paris is magical. The Christmas markets, the twinkling lights on every street, the window displays in the grand department stores… and that comforting warmth you feel when you hold a cup of mulled wine in your hands. Just thinking about it makes me want to share my secret recipe with you.
Bring Paris to You
Because let’s face it: if you can’t be in Paris right now, why not bring a little bit of Paris to you? So stick around—I’ll share the recipe with you below (and yes, it’s amazing!).
What’s Your Winter Ritual?
But before I go, I’d love to know: what’s your favorite winter ritual? A drink, a tradition, or an activity that brings you joy? I’d love to hear about it, and maybe get inspired for my next winter adventures.
Sending you lots of love and Parisian vibes,
Sarah 🌟

A Special Afternoon in Paris
P.S. This afternoon, I’m meeting Petra and Christophe, two guests I met last summer during an “Emily in Paris” tour. Since then, we’ve stayed in touch… and now they’re back to experience Paris in winter! We’ve planned a Montmartre tour, and to end the day, we’re indulging in champagne and cheese tasting. I can’t wait to catch up with them and share everything with you soon! Stay tuned!
Ingredients:
1 bottle of red wine (something good but not too expensive)
1 orange (sliced)
1 lemon (sliced)
3 cinnamon sticks
4 cloves
2 star anise
2 tablespoons of sugar (or more, depending on your taste)
1 shot of cognac or rum (optional, but so nice!)
Preparation:
Pour the wine into a large pot.
Add the orange and lemon slices, spices, sugar, and the cognac or rum (if using).
Heat gently, without boiling, for about 20 to 30 minutes. Let the spices infuse and everything blend together.
Pour into mugs and sip while it’s hot. Let yourself be carried away by the Parisian vibe!
